Support for Ukraine

Please join in praying for the people of Ukraine and for those who are serving on the ground during this time of crisis. Here are specific requests from Baptist leaders in Ukraine and Russia, shared through the Baptist World Alliance

  • Pray as the most recent BWA Congress theme emphasized that we will be “Together” in pressing forward with the Gospel.
  • Pray that as Baptists we will follow in the way of Jesus and engage in peacemaking.
  • Pray for families who will be impacted and who are concerned for the well-being of their sons and daughters.
  • Pray that God will redeem this tension by drawing many people to himself and that Ukrainians and Russians discover that Jesus is the only true source of peace, safety, comfort, truth, and freedom.
  • Pray for a culture in which political disagreements do not lead to hatred or violence.
  • Pray for families, especially those families that have members on opposite sides of the border, and that love for one another will supersede political problems.

If you would also like to give financial support, we are sending funds through these ministry friends and partners:

  • Cooperative Baptist Fellowship – missionaries Gennady and Mina Podgiasky have been serving in Kyiv for 20 years
  • Texas Baptist Men – as they aid refugees, government officials are telling those in need of help, “Go find the Baptists.”
  • Grace Faith ministry – friends of VRBC members Dmitiry and Elena, they are serving refugees who are evacuating through their city of Lviv, where refugees now outnumber city residents. For more information shared by Dmitiry, please click here
