As we serve the poor and homeless in our community and around the world, we want do it with compassion and respect, in a way that provides dignity and empowers those we serve. In order to better understand those we seek to help, we offer a weekend Poverty Simulation for high school students and adults. Although a weekend simulation pales in comparison to the difficulties faced by those who are poor or homeless, it can be an effective tool for us as we grow in serving others.
The Poverty Simulation will take place April 1-3, 2016, in South Dallas, primarily at ministry locations of Cornerstone Baptist Church. The cost, which covers expenses like food, supplies and a tshirt, is $40 until January 31st or $50 if you register in February or March. The final deadline to register is Sunday, March 12th.
