WHAT OUR STUDENTS SAY
When we moved here from South Carolina about 5 years ago, I was lost and didn’t have any friends. When I visited VRSM and was welcomed with a warm smile, I felt like I had found a second home. Christ has really changed my life through the meaningful discussions and wonderful community I have experienced at VRSM. It truly is a life-changing group!
I love VRSM because everyone there loves one another like family. The whole ministry is very inclusive and all the leaders are easy to talk to in times of struggle and are there to support you when you succeed. I have made some of my best friends through the ministry and also been able to watch each other grow in Christ and grow together, which has been one of my favorite things since joining the ministry!

VRSM has helped me grow spiritually by showing me what it’s like to love Jesus and love others, but also how to put that into practice by serving the community and laughing together. My relationship with Jesus would not be as strong as it is today without VRSM and the many people and leaders who have invested in me.
VRSM has shown me the purpose and joy found in having Godly community. Being able to walk alongside such a great group of people has made it easier to be bold and grow in my faith. The people here are so special and their love for the Lord is evident by how they love others and invite them into our student ministry. VRSM has taught me how to pursue a deeper faith and seek Christ above all other things.

OUR MISSION
God has planted VRBC in a beautifully diverse community. The area around our church is filled with people from a rich tapestry of ethnic, socioeconomic, political, and religious backgrounds. Tragically, many of these people are disconnected – from God and from one another. We believe God has intentionally placed us here to invite these beautifully diverse and tragically disconnected people to find unity in one glorious calling: passionately following Jesus together.

OUR BELIEFS
BIBLE
We believe that the awesome story of God and his creation is told in the Bible, which is completely true and authoritative in all areas of faith and practice.

TRINITY
We believe in one God, Creator of the world and everything in it. We believe this infinitely perfect God eternally exists as one God in three distinct persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Each person of the Trinity is fully and completely God, sharing all of the divine attributes in perfect loving community.

HUMAN BEINGS
We believe that God made humans to live in this world in peace and joy, sharing his love with one another, and that God paid us the highest compliment by giving us the freedom to say YES or NO to his desires. Sadly, our NO has led us down the road to alienation, self-destruction, and death.

JESUS CHRIST
We believe that Jesus Christ is the pre-existent Son of God (fully God) who was born to a virgin (fully human). We believe that he lived a sinless life, was crucified on a cross as a sacrifice for our sins, was buried and resurrected on the third day, and now reigns in heaven with God the Father.
SALVATION
We believe that all who trust in Jesus Christ alone as their Lord and Savior will receive the forgiveness of sins and the free gift of salvation.

HOLY SPIRIT
We believe the Holy Spirit permanently fills all believers at the time of salvation and guides us in the journey to become like Christ, exposing our sinfulness, bringing us new life, filling us with God’s power, and leading us to honor and glorify Jesus.

CHURCH
We believe that all who follow Jesus into God’s Kingdom discover a community of fellow believers and friends that becomes their spiritual home. The purpose of the church is to continue Jesus’ work of loving all people, and helping them find and follow God. We believe that baptism signifies and celebrates being born again into God’s family. The Lord’s Supper signifies and celebrates God’s pardon and presence in our lives.

LAST THINGS
We believe that God is guiding human history according to his own perfect plan. One day, Jesus will return to earth. On that day, God will make all things new, fulfill all empty dreams, restore all broken relationships, heal all wounds, and reveal his love fully and perfectly.
