CHRISTMAS STORE LOVE OFFERING
Our mission is to further God's Kingdom by providing Christmas for children less fortunate in a way that gives dignity and respect for those who care for them.

VRBC partners with our sister church, Cornerstone Baptist Church, to sponsor Christmas Stores in South Dallas and in Lima, Peru. Each December these two Christmas Stores minister to families by providing hospitality, prayer, Bibles in English and Spanish, wrapped presents for the children, and clothing such as underwear, socks and shirts. We hope that parents leave the Christmas Store having experienced the joy and hope of Christ and with wrapped gifts for their children.
Each of these ministries requires a significant commitment of funds. In addition to the funds provided through the church missions budget, we host a spring auction and collect a Christmas offering to best provide for our friends in South Dallas and Peru. We are also extremely grateful for any corporate or private donations.

Cornerstone Christmas Store
2012 Cornerstone Christmas Store: Dec. 7th & 8th
What does the Christmas Store provide?
1. Volunteers will transport parent(s) from the Cornerstone neighborhoods to VRBC.
2. Upon arrival guests enjoy a meal and VRBC hospitality. They are joined by a GPS (Guide, Pray, Serve) volunteer, who will help them in shopping for their family and also share the hope of Christ with them.

3. Parents "shop" (at no cost) for Christmas gifts for their children.
Each child receives a new:
- Small toy
- Large toy
- Underwear, Shirt and Socks
- Stocking filled with goodies
4. Each parent walks away with a wrapped gift to open on Christmas morning.
5. Each family receives a Voucher to purchase a Christmas meal.
6. Volunteers wrap the gifts while the guests make their way into the sanctuary.
7. The GPS volunteer shares the gospel with each guest and prays with them.
8. Volunteers take the gifts to the car and take the participants back to Cornerstone
9. Parents are reunited with their children who have been ministered to and cared for by our youth and adult volunteers.
More than 1,200 inner-city children and their families are served by the local Christmas Store.

Peru Christmas Store
La Tienda de Navidad (Peruvian Christmas Store)
Since 2006, VRBC has partnered with sister church El Buen Pastor to
offer a Christmas Store for poor children in the coastal district
called Chorrillos, in Peru's capital city of Lima. The Peruvian Christmas Store has grown from serving 157 in 2006 to almost 250 in 2009. In the same manner as VRBC's local Christmas Store, the Peruvian children receive a toy, a t-shirt and pair of socks. GPS volunteers form relationships with those they serve and have the opportunity to pray together, share the gospel, and give a Spanish Bible to each family. Buckner International has partnered with this project since its inception and also provides shoes on a separate afternoon of activities.
